  • Can I put asbestos in a skip?

    Asbestos must not be put in any skip rented from WA Skips without prior written arrangement.

    Asbestos can be found in many materials in houses built up until the late 1980s. If in doubt as to whether or not a material might contain asbestos, please consult an expert before placing it in a skip. If asbestos is found in a skip prior to removal from a customer’s property, the skip will not be removed until properly dealt with.

    If asbestos is found in the skip after it has been tipped either at landfill or at a transfer station, high decontamination costs and possibly very heavy penalties may be imposed. The customer will be responsible for the payment of all costs immediately.

  • What happens if the skip is turned away on delivery or cannot be placed?

    If the skip cannot be delivered for any reason, other than the fault of WA Skips, our local supplier, or the driver, the customer will be liable for any callout fees incurred and will be entitled to either a refund of the balance, or for the balance to be credited towards the hire of a different skip

  • What happens if the skip is picked up and it wasn't full yet?

    When you hire a skip bin, you specify the collection date and it will be collected on that date unless you subsequently request otherwise. If a driver finds a skip, substantially empty, he will make attempts to have the customer contacted, but ultimately will have the discretion to remove the skip if he sees fit. If the driver is turned away on arrival, the customer will be responsible for payment of any call out fee incurred for the additional trip.

  • Council permits

    Municipalities have different rules about placing skips in the public area. Some prohibit placement on either the road or nature strip, others require that the customer obtain a permit at a cost, some maintain a list of approved skip companies who may place a skip on public land. If you need to put the skip outside your property, please call to discuss with one of our consultants

  • What happens if a passer-by overloads the skip or put prohibited materials in it?

    You as the customer are in possession of the skip and are responsible for what goes in it. Therefore, you will be responsible for any costs arising if anyone puts something in the skip that is not allowed or overloads it.

  • Who is responsible for the skip bin?


    If your employee's or neighbours fill the skip bin on your behalf you are responsible for making sure it is filled to our requirements.

    Should you find green waste mixed through your rubbish or hazardous materials placed in the bin you must rectify this before filling the bin any further.

    Additional charges will be passed on to the hirer at the prevailing rates for bins that have been moved, overfilled, filled incorrectly (contaminated with green waste) or contain hazardous materials.

  • What size skip bin do i need?

    As a rough guide a loaded standard 6' x 4' box trailer is about 1 cubic metre or about 10 barrow loads. If you think you have 4 trailer loads of rubbish then a 4-metre bin is the one for you, 6 trailer loads is a 6 metre bin & so on.

  • What should I do before my skip bin arrives?

    Make sure you have access for the truck. Advise any contractors to leave room for the delivery of the bin & the pickup of the bin when full.

    Make sure there is no overhanging tress or powerlines (7 metres clearance required to comply with OH&S). Make sure your car, boat or caravan is moved if needed PRIOR TO THE BIN BEING DELIVERED & that car keys are available for vehicles on site if needed.

    Make sure you have not placed your rubbish where your skip bin is to be placed.

  • How much room do I need for delivery?

    Our trucks are much larger than your car so please consider the following;

    Your site needs to be clean & level for safe delivery, placement & bin retrieval.

    The truck is 2.5 metres wide plus the mirrors are 50 cm additional each side - we need a minimum of 3.5 metres if we need to reverse to place your bin. The driver also needs to open his door to get out - if you have low walls or hedges etc. take this into consideration.

    Look up - how much clearance from trees, eaves, power lines etc. is there? We need 5 metres minimum & 8 metres if power lines are present to comply with WA Worksafe legislation (The law).

    The driver requires 1 metre of clear unobstructed access around the bin to prevent injury, slips, trips or falls to do his job - this is your home / worksite you have asked us to enter - you are required under WA Worksafe legislation to provide a safe work site & comply with all relevant OH&S legislation applicable.

    Lastly you have arranged for the delivery of the bin, to avoid additional fee charges such as “wasted journey” or “waiting time” please ensure access is available on both the delivery & pick up day.

  • Can I move the skip bin?

    No. The operator will endeavour to place the bin in your requested position. Moving the bin in most instances prevents the recovery of the bin & will result in extra charges for yourself & having to empty the bin out before it is moved again

    Sometimes the skip bin cannot be placed where you want. This may be due to overhanging trees, powerlines or sloping ground. Moving the bin requires special lifting apparatus. The bin needs to be lifted evenly to prevent damage to the bin & the lifting equipment on the truck.

  • Are there any additional charges?

    For 99.9 % of our clients there is nothing to worry about.

    However, for those who think they can conceal hazardous or controlled wastes, overfill the bin or not make the bin available for pick up or delivery there will be additional charges for any circumstance beyond our control.

    To save additional cost and to help us we recommend the following;

    If you are a home owner & you want your bin where your boat is – move it before we get there.

    If you live in an area where there are trees or low power lines – Look up - how much clearance from trees, eaves, power lines etc. is there? We need 5 metres minimum & 8 metres if power lines are present to comply with WA Worksafe legislation (The law).

  • Do your bins have a ramp?

    Yes, our 2 cubic metre to 10 cubic metre lift on bins have a ramp for easy wheelbarrow access.

  • Do you recycle?

    Yes we do. We sort your rubbish at one of our transfer stations to extract recyclables.

  • What days do you deliver?

    Delivery days are Monday through to Saturday

  • Do you do same day delivery?

    If you book before 10am, it is possible to get the bin to you same day. However, it is always best to try and place your order at least the day before to avoid any disappointment.

  • How much can I put in the bin?

    Safe, legal practice is not to have rubbish over the top of the bin. Overloaded bins will need to be emptied prior to collection. If our driver needs to return an additional charge will apply.

  • What can I put in the bin?

    You can have any mix of rubbish in our 2 cubic metre to 10 cubic metre skip bins. Also, we sort all the waste at one of our transfer stations, so you do not have to worry about separating recyclables. We do that for you.

    Materials that cannot go into our bins unless especially arranged are: asbestos, supersix fencing, car tyres, food waste, liquid, oil or paint tins with liquid still in them, car batteries, tree stumps greater than 30 cm in diameter.

  • How do I pay for the bin?

    Payment can be made online using Paypal. Customers can also use credit cards via the Paypal facility

  • How long can I keep the bin?

    Our hire period is for up to 7 days. If you need the bin longer there is a small daily hire charge
